Tokyo, room for three

Open the door of the Tokyo room and your eye goes straight to the window. Pale walls, pale stone underfoot, a dark wooden headboard. A few pieces brought back from Asia, a silk cushion, a framed canvas, echo the thread that runs through the whole house: Italy, the East and Provence, held together quietly.

Twenty-two square metres, carefully arranged. The 160 cm double bed sits in the main part of the room. A recess extends it and holds the single bed, with its own reading lamp and bedside table. The child has a corner, you have yours, and nobody is in anyone's way. In the morning the light comes through the sheer curtain and the trees of the grounds. In the evening, the quiet takes over.

The private bathroom is a study in stone: a round basin set on a solid top, wall-mounted taps, a walk-in shower. Air conditioning is set room by room, which matters in July. You also have an HD TV, a courtesy tray with kettle, teas and coffee, free Wi-Fi and free parking. The room is non-smoking and sleeps three at most.

It is the right size for a couple travelling with a child. A proper bed for each, one bathroom for all, nothing superfluous.
