The grounds and the natural bathing pond
The grounds slope down towards the river. The Aigues Brun sets the boundary, and you can hear the current from the paths. Above it, centuries-old trees hold the shade for most of the day. That is what makes a July afternoon bearable here, more than any amount of air conditioning.
At the far end of the park lies the natural bathing pond, fed by the river itself. The water is neither heated nor chlorinated, and that coolness is exactly what people come for in midsummer. The bed and the banks are those of the Aigues Brun. Everything is done on foot, from the water to the terrace and back again.
The house went by other names before this one: Le Paradou, then Bamboothai. The park has not changed.
The natural bathing pondWhat you can do here
The restaurant is open seven days a week, at lunch and in the evening: Italian and Thai cooking, sharing boards, house cocktails at the bar. The terrace sits under the trees of the park, and that is where most meals are served once the season turns.
- Lunch 12:00 – 14:00, dinner 19:00 – 23:00, every day.
- Electric bikes: €25 for a half day, €39 for a full day, by reservation.
- Free parking and Wi-Fi across the whole estate.
By bike, Bonnieux, Ménerbes, Cucuron and Ansouis are within reach. The Lourmarin market is held on Friday mornings. Our routes and our ideas for visits are gathered in the Luberon.
