In Lourmarin, in the heart of the Luberon, O Mamma Mia is one of those places you come across almost by chance and never forget.
Just thirty or so kilometres from Aix-en-Provence and an hour from the Mediterranean, the hotel nestles at 21 route d'Apt, in a green setting where time seems to slow down of its own accord.
The estate stretches along the Aigues Brun, a discreet river that borders the park and keeps the days company with its coolness and its murmur. Beneath the century-old trees, the shade stays gentle even at the height of summer. Around a bend in the paths, a natural pool appears between the leaves, while the terrace, set beneath the same trees, invites you to linger over your mornings and evenings.
Here, nature is not a backdrop. It is part of the place.
Lourmarin, listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of France, is 1.5 km away: a good twenty minutes on foot. Its lanes, its château, Albert Camus' grave and its unmissable Friday morning market are simply explored on foot. The car can stay at the estate, in our free car park: the rest of the day belongs to the village, to walks and to the pleasure of taking your time.
Sleeping, lunch, dinner, a drink… it all happens in the same place.

All our rooms are air-conditioned and non-smoking, with free Wi-Fi and parking. Some offer more space, while others charm with a more intimate character or a privileged view of the waterfall and the river.

The restaurant is open every day. Lunch from 12:00 to 14:00, dinner from 19:00 to 23:00. The hotel and the restaurant are closed on 24 and 25 December, then from 1 January to 14 February. We reopen on the evening of 14 February. Eat in or takeaway.
The menu brings together three creative cuisines: a Thai menu, an Italian-Thai menu and an Italian menu, with sharing boards to begin with. The bar makes its own cocktails, and the prestige wine cellar brings together the Luberon, Burgundy and a few bottles from further afield.
The bar has its own soundtrack too: music in the background and themed evenings all year round. And every Friday from 8pm, O Mamma Live: the musical get-together of the weekend.
Dinner is served under the trees whenever the weather allows. If you are wondering where to eat in Lourmarin without taking the car out again, this restaurant welcomes hotel guests and passing visitors alike.

The Luberon, straight from our door
A weekend in the Luberon plays out over a few kilometres. Bonnieux, Ménerbes, Roussillon and Gordes on one side of the range, Cucuron and Ansouis on the other. The villages are best seen in the morning, before the heat.
In Lourmarin itself, the castle is open to visitors and Albert Camus' grave lies in the village cemetery. On Friday mornings the market fills the streets until early afternoon.
We rent electric bikes, on request: €25 for half a day, €39 for a full day. The roads across the range feel different with a motor behind you.
