Roma, above the water

Room Roma opens onto the sound of water. The Aigues Brun waterfall runs just below, behind the trees, and the room looks out over it. Open the window and the rest of the world steps back.

Thirty square metres under an old beam, pale walls, a smooth cool floor. The French window faces the greenery and lets in a light filtered through the leaves, soft in the morning, golden at the end of the day. Once night falls, only the river remains.

A 160 cm double bed and a single bed sleep up to three. The private bathroom, lined with travertine, brings together a walk-in shower and a basin beneath a lit mirror; the toilet sits in its own separate room, which counts for something when you travel three. Individual air conditioning, an HD television, a courtesy tray and free Wi-Fi come with the room. Parking is free and the room is non-smoking.

Roma suits couples who want the view over the water, a family with one child, or three friends making Lourmarin their base for the Luberon.
